This morning I have returned to the autumn sketch.  I will do a series and then, once again decide on a composition that appeals to me the most.  The hand positions will need some close work - hands are always devilishly tricky.  Sometimes it is good to return to basic drawing skills.  I tended to skip out on this stage and go straight to the painting but I am actually enjoying the discipline of this approach and do feel that, as a result of this, I am making progress.  The drawing, in this case, is not a finished product but a means to an end.
