I have tended never to do a complete wet on wet watercolour and I have been agonizing for two days to do it. Today I took the plunge and, although I would have prefered a different perspective on the building  I am quite happy with the my first attempt at wet on wet.  The finishing touches I completed once the background was dry.  I added a few spatters of paint with a wide flat brush.  Much of my previous work has tended to be acrylic on canvas or a more overworked watercolour or gouache.  I was getting more and more dissatisfied with myself and really wanted a more translucent finish.  I am now going to use Winsor colours, sable brushes and stop using tap water and use, instead, distilled water - in other words I want to produce works that will last.
