I have had a busy few days out of the studio! Youngest son home from Melbourne meant some quality family time but I am back into gear today. I have been working on the jacket and cardigan today and I am not so concerned with exact colour matching as getting colours that work well together. Contrast is important to me, however. I am about to break for lunch but would like another session later this afternoon when I will block in the tee shirt and add some richer colour on the leaves in the foreground. I have used Payne's grey for the first time and am enjoying the experience - it gives a dark which does not dull the painting as black has a tendency to do. I usually mix darks and omit black altogether when I am working in acrylics. More later!
