A day spent getting the studio/gallery ready for our 'Christmas in July' event!  Painting to rearrange, framing and so on but I am pleased to have fitted in a couple of hours this evening working on the hair!  I have added some highlights but will have a couple more sessions over the weekend to add more detail.  The far background needs some work - a general lightening of the area.  In the foreground I will add some more leaf form.  The boots will need a slight refining - some highlights to the cuffs and, perhaps a little highlight to the knees.  The hand to the right of the canvas needs some attention to the thumb/some mid-ground tone as well.  Eyelashes and ...I could go on - sometimes I do go on too much but I try not too!  Photographing work as you go along really helps to focus on the areas needing attention.  As you can see some flesh colour will need to be taken up into the hairline above the forehead and, because this little girl does not have a fringe, after I have finished with the face I will add the final wisps of hair.
