Have had an evening session in the studio because I have been struggling to get the adorable face that i wanted - a slightly too big mouth, a face that is not foreshortened enough, a nose that just seemed too big and so on.  I am now feeling much happier!  Earlier today I added an extra layer to the background, covering up some of the distant leaves and will have to add them in again.  I do want to feel the distance of the path with the leaves diminishing in size, in definition and in tone.  I can go to bed feeling much happier with the stage I am at.  The father of this little girl sent me some more photos and I do think that I would like to try a study in oils but that will have to happen after our exhibition.  'Christmas in July' exhibition is in ten days and I will have several batches of mince pies to make before then.  i would love to name the painting after this little girl but not sure how the parents will feel - it is to be 'Autumn in Paris' or '" her name' in Paris".
