What a treat it was to receive some photos from the father of the little girl who I have recently been sketching.  I love the way that technology can connect to people you have met from over the other side of the world and within a short space of time you can have extra material to complement your preparation studies for a painting.  Whilst I may still use my initial composition it will so useful to get to know my subject by completing several sketches before even approaching the canvas.  The 36X48inch (3ft X4ft) canvas is now on the easel.  Normally I think in metres and centimetres but the label states the size in inches.  Here is my latest sketch using one of the photos emailed to me.
