Still working on sketches for my next painting.  Sometimes it is good to just draw!  When you wonder why you do art, and maybe feel less than perfect, it is worth remembering that if it is in the soul you just need to keep going!  Yes, we all have off days, but today is not one of those days for me.  My inspiration leans more and more to Europe and to figure drawing and am looking forward to gathering more inspiration next year, although I still have quite a lot of material from Jardin du Luxembourg as well as some interesting subjects from the Musee d'Orsay.  Along with my overseas material I have had local interest in the animals in Samford Valley, where I live, and have quite a collection of animal illustrations waiting to be framed for our 'Christmas in July' exhibition in six weeks time.  For now, here is my latest preparation sketch.
