I found a couple of figures from other photographic material (still from Paris) and added them into the queue.  My next step was to block in the background with a light wash just so that I could get the feel of the composition.   it seems to work; some gaps are bigger between the people because that actually happened naturally.  Those who knew one another were huddled together.  Several people were typically on their mobile phones and two saw me as I mentioned before.  I am not going to rush this painting as I don't have a deadline and I actually want to relax with it.  All over Paris there are boulangeries and patisseries and the most popular always tend to have long queues that nobody seems to mind waiting in!
