I finally put gesso onto my new canvas and pencilled in most of the people waiting in a queue at a patisserie in Paris.  It is about the size of three of my normal Paris studies.  It looks like I will have to add an extra figure into the queue to make the size ratio work, ending up with fouteen people instead of thirteen.  Most of the people were not aware that I took the photograph except for two on the left who looked towards me - otherwise it is a fairly natural shot!.  It should be quite a challenge and one I am looking forward to now that I have made a start!
