Yesterday, Tuesday, was the second drawing class.  We began with some blind contour drawing to loosen up and relax - there is a lovely movement that seems to occur during this process!  An introduction to negative space was a useful focus too.  An introduction to form/ellipses using vases and jugs - just basic mapping of objects rather than finished art works.  This series of five lessons is intended to give a basis background of elements of art and basic skills of drawing.  After morning tea we used the techniques covered in lesson one, when we focused on form using a pear to demonstrate three dimensional representation, to create a greetings card using watercolour.  So far we have used pencil (HB, 2B and 6B), charcoal, graphite, oil crayons and watercolour.
