It seems like forever since I was on here!  From October to November I was overseas gathering material for my next works as well as having a most interesting and fun holiday!  Once back in Brisbane, Australia I found myself busily occupied preparing for our son's violin recital, which went off without a hitch and was well received by all!  What followed was a huge family gathering for the entire Christmas and New Year period.  A  Christmas gift voucher for five art classes purchased from our Rigmarole Studio/Gallery led to preparation for the classes to follow.  One of the five private classes has been attended with the second one tomorrow.  After a brief phone call it was decided that beginners drawing sessions would be the most beneficial.  Already we have focused on using techniques such as contour lines, hatching, cross hatching, scumbling using a variety of media such as pencil, graphite, charcoal and oil pastels with a focus on a simple pear shape.  Tomorrow the focus will centre on 3D shapes: vases, jugs & bottles using all of the techniques from the first class plus watercolour.
