Throughout our 2013 art tour (France, Italy, U.K. and New York) I collected material for working on in the studio.  Having got Giverny out of my system (who am I kidding?) I am now ready to embark on a series of paintings based on people who captured my interest, many of whom carried or walked with their dogs.  The subject of my painting today was 'une femme à Paris'!

I am trying something different with the aim of making the colours as vibrant as possible.  I do need several more for my palette but began anyway.  Will buy some more when we go to the shops tomorrow.  This study has been underpainted but several layers will need to be added to bring about the depth of contrast that I hope to achieve.
