It seems quite a while since I have blogged!  Over the easter break we frew down to sydney and spent time with family and apart from some Instagram sharing I did little else in relation to art.  When you sketch or paint every day the absence of it can be a very strange experience.  I am now building up to beginning a new art journal and to the preparation of a series of journal art classes that I intend to offer in June.  I have already begun to build the kits for the students but have much to do to organise publicity brochures etc.  Later in the year a trip to Europe should supply me with enough material for work in the studio during 2018.  Lots of thought processes and research happening but no art pieces to post just yet.   I am not sure if I actually blogged the process of the ice cream finger dip!  I don't always pencil first, sometimes I ink lines straight away and sometimes I go immediately to the colour. I didn't rub out the pencil lines and neither did I use ink in this sketch.  The water colour is Winsor & Newton.  It was a very free sketch and was happy with the 'less is more' treatment.
