I have a series of three sketches of devouring the ice-cream.  I found the whole process of dipping the finger in to the soft serve, the whole messy approach filled with such concentration absolutely fascinating and I captured it all on camera.  I have much to learn when it comes to detailed figure drawing but this entire process of a sketch a day, with the subject being people, a wonderful acceleration of the skills needed to capture gesture.  I will continue urban sketching knowing that all of this focused study and research will add immeasurably to my skills. I guess the bottom line is that I am also loving what I am doing and, at the end of the day, isn't that the best reason for artistic pursuits!  I use Winsor & Newton watercolours and have just acquired a dagger brush which I am really enjoying using.  I will trial several materials before setting up kits for prospective students.
