Giverny continues today with the addition of some additions of contrast and colour.   I am aiming for a soft impressionistic feel with a degree of depth and distance.  The iris is my favourite flower and, since our trip, we have planted some in our lower courtyard, but as yet only have leaves which are a bit brown on the tips.  I will need to add many layers of tone before I am satisfied, but at the same time I want to keep it understated.
